Turkey neck?…meet the Ultraformer III

Like so many of the 40+ women I see every day in the clinics, I don’t like what’s happening to my neck. ‘Turkey neck’ is a shocking term but it seems to be universally understood as the skin laxity that happens to our neck as we age. That, combined with a general sagging of the skin on the face gives a tired look that is the driving force behind many clients coming in to see us.

Tightening and lifting ageing skin has been a tricky task to date. I’ve spent years researching different technology that targets this and until now, radio frequency devices like the Thermage which we have had in the clinics for the last 5 years, have delivered great results for our clients. However, my never ending quest to deliver the latest in innovation has led me to bring the brand new Ultraformer III into the clinics, despite the fact this may well be at the expense of our Thermage.

Both Thermage and Ultraformer III deliver heat energy into the skin to stimulate collagen remodelling. The main difference, and the reason for my unchecked enthusiasm, is in Ultraformers’ immediate effect on the skin, the deeper penetration and overall better client experience – shorter treatment time, no downtime and a far more comfortable experience…I promise!!

We have been trialling the Ultraformer III for the last four months and we have put it through its paces. The real benefit is being able to target specific sagging areas, rather than the whole face or neck, significantly reducing the cost to you, the client. If I am to compare the two though, a face/upper neck treatment for Thermage is just under $3000 and a comparative treatment with Ultraformer III will be $1950.
The science behind this little gem of technology is micro and macro focused Ultrasound that precisely targets the SMAS layer in the skin – the layer that surgeons pull back when doing a face lift – causing new collagen stimulation, providing long term tightening of the skin. Clients facial contours and fine lines show peak improvement at 8-12 weeks and additional firming throughout the subsequent 12 months. In addition, the Ultraformer has a ‘wrinkle cartridge’; a 2.0mm macro focused cartridge, that can treat superficial wrinkles around the eyes and lips more effectively than I have ever seen with other skin tightening technology.

Ultraformer III is for clients who don’t want, or need surgery but are looking to tighten their skin. With over 1 million treatments performed worldwide, despite being relatively new to the market, Ultraformer III is currently the worlds’ No.1 system for ultrasound lifting, tightening, and contouring and having had a treatment, I absolutely know why.
For those with mild to moderate skin laxity, a simple treatment a year will absolutely do the trick, whilst more severe laxity may need a second treatment at the three-month mark, then yearly after that. Eyes can be targeted separately and require three treatments spaced apart every two weeks but there is no need to wear the intraocular eye shields, required for Thermage.

So, in a nutshell, why am I investing into another skin tightening device when we already have Thermage? Because it is about innovation, something I’m passionate about. If it works better, I’ll bring it in. The Ultraformer results, comfort, and cost have made it a simple choice for me professionally and personally. And let me tell you, this is a treatment you are going to want to have done too. Suzie xx
