‘Formal ready’ skin
My youngest daughter is preparing for her formal in September. She has organised her date; her father approves (phew!)
We have bought the dress (tick); shoes remain an issue!
And now, after showing no interest in skincare before, she wants to prepare her skin.
She is fortunate in that she hasn’t been afflicted with the same acne prone skin that both my husband and I were, but she gets the odd break out. Like many young women at formal time, she wants to ensure that a breakout isn’t timed perfectly with the big night. No guarantees here, but we can certainly reduce the likelihood and have her feeling as confident as she possibly can.
Now, like many young people her age she doesn’t need a full acne treatment program. I have started her off with a HydraFacial MD treatment to decongest her skin and a blue light every second week to reduce the breakouts.
I have also started her more active skincare; a vitamin B3 serum, Rationale’s cleanser, an alpha and beta hydroxyl acid serum and a scrub, and so far so good. She is enjoying the results; so much so I fear I have created a skincare “monster”.
Like all parents though, I just want her to go feeling confident; not awkward or self-conscious, and knowing her skin is looking its best is a great start.
