“These annoying, unsightly and often stubborn tumours can be a source of great embarrassment. But thanks to our laser therapy technology, they can be easily and effectively removed.”
There are many different warts and characteristics will vary according to what type of wart it is. Some of these features include:
- Small, raised bumps
- Ranging in size from 1–10 millimetres
- Occurring singly or in clusters
- Commonly appear on the face, feet, knees and hands.
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) infecting the top layer of skin causing skin cells to grow rapidly. There are different forms of the HPV that are more likely to affect different areas of the body. The virus is opportunistic and makes use of skin that has been damaged or cut to enter the skin. The most common form of transmission is skin to skin contact, shaking hands where the wart can contact a damaged area of skin or even from objects like a towel that has been used on someone with a wart! If you do get warts it’s important to treat them as soon as possible—left untreated, warts will spread.
How we can help
We can treat warts quickly and effectively with the new Excel laser that destroys the blood supply feeding the wart. It’s a very quick procedure that clients describe as “a few hot pin pricks”. The wart usually falls off after 3 weeks, depending on individual healing.
