Broken Facial Capillaries

“Also known as spider veins, these annoying and unsightly capillaries can become increasingly worse and more difficult to hide. Prevention, early treatment and on-going maintenance will help you effectively address this condition. We have the range of treatments and skincare options to help you achieve the best results.”

The problem

Commonly located on the nose, cheeks and chin, broken capillaries appear as small red vessels under the skin. If left untreated, these vessels will continue to dilate and become more noticeable.

Causes

Broken capillaries can be caused by a number of different reasons, some of which can be preventable. The most common causes are:

•  Environmental—sun exposure and weather extremes
•  Age
•  Rosacea
•  Genetics
•  Hormonal fluctuations
•  Pregnancy
•  Medical conditions such as high blood pressure
•  Pressure e.g. squeezing acne or glasses pressing on the face.

How we can help

Treatment is as much about repairing the existing damage as it is about prevention of further damage by improving the overall strength and health of your skin. Because vascular damage often sits at many different levels in the epidermis and dermis, we need to employ a range of modalities to effectively reach and collapse the vessels. Our nurses can also prescribe the right medical grade skincare and sunscreen to help maintain your treatment results and prevent further damage.

The first step

If you’re new to Clear Complexions, we need to conduct an in-depth skin analysis using state-of-the-art imaging software to look beneath your skin; so that we can determine what treatment will deliver you the best results. It only takes 60 minutes and it will set you on the right path for truly healthy skin.
