Procedure peels are ultra mild and yet ultra effective peels used in the treatment of sun damage, pigmentation, rosacea and acne. These peels are perfect for those who have congested skin and open pores or for those simply wanting to keep the skin’s healthy luminosity.
How do they work?
Procedure peels are based on organic compounds such as lactic, salicylic, pyruvic and ascorbic acids. These agents work with your skin’s natural physiology, restoring healthier, clearer, more luminous skin. Available only from medical skin care clinics, our nurses can customise each peel to your skin’s unique needs.
How many treatments will I need?
Procedure peels are usually prescribed as a course of four to six clinical treatments performed either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Your nurse will tailor the peel’s strengths and activities according to your skin’s responses. There is no pain during the treatment, only a hot sensation that subsides after a few minutes.
The treatment takes about 15-20 mins and you can return to normal activities immediately afterwards. Mineral make-up can be applied directly after the treatment.
What can I expect to happen after a peel?
You skin will be red for a short time after the peel. It will appear tight and your pores minimised. After a day or two, you may notice some mild shedding which can be easily controlled with applying moisturiser. Not every person will experience the shedding, it is dependant on the individual, but everyone will see the results.
